Model Maker

Job Description

A well-known manufacturing company has a unique opportunity for a Model Maker to fabricate prototype parts and alter production parts for testing.

Duties include:
  • Producing finished machined parts following engineering specifications and drawings
  • Identifying and acquiring materials for required parts
  • Collaborating with engineering and test lab staff to identify and resolve fabricating problems related to prototype work
  • Fabricating prototype parts and altering production parts from drawings, blueprints, and sketches

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, vocational training and/or apprenticeship program
  • Apprenticeship papers with 2-4+ years of experience or 10 years of tool and die experience
  • Set up and operation of lathes, mills, drill presses, and grinders is required
  • Mold construction, CAD/Master CAM experience is preferred

Her experience includes finance, human resources, IT, marketing, property management, and a brief stint as a location scout for a county film commission in Northern California. She enjoys working behind the scenes to keep things moving smoothly. Her support keeps us working as a team, putting people to work as efficiently and seamlessly as possible.

Lisa is a New York transplant from California that loves living in Western New York. She is often asked why she left California. Her answer: the art scene, the architecture, and most importantly, the people! Buffalo has shown her over and over again that it really is the City of Good Neighbors.

When she is not working, Lisa enjoys spending time with her husband, Michael, and their dog Benny, a lab and border collie mix. She also is learning to paint with watercolor, crochets, and gardens when the weather permits.
