Our client, a highly regarded law firm with a thriving healthcare and medical malpractice practice, is seeking a Medical Malpractice Attorney to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys sophisticated litigation, meaningful client interaction, and the challenge of defending healthcare providers in high-exposure matters.

The successful candidate will manage medical malpractice cases involving physicians, hospitals, healthcare systems, long-term care facilities, and allied healthcare professionals from inception through resolution.

What You`ll Do
  • Handle all phases of medical malpractice litigation, including case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related documents
  • Conduct and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, medical professionals, and expert witnesses
  • Analyze complex medical records and collaborate with medical experts
  • Prepare witnesses for testimony and participate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations
  • Attend court appearances and hearings
  • Develop litigation strategies and evaluate liability, causation, and damages issues
  • Assist with trial preparation and trial proceedings as needed

Job Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in New York
  • 3+ years of medical malpractice, healthcare, insurance defense, or complex civil litigation experience preferred
  • Experience handling depositions, motion practice, and case management
  • Strong legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
  • Ability to interpret and analyze complex medical records and expert reports
  • Exceptional organizational and communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with clients and colleagues
