A well-known WNY law firm seeks an experienced Legal Assistant to join the Trust & Estates department in their Rochester office.

This position supports a team of Trust & Estates attorneys with administrative tasks including document preparation, scheduling, file maintenance, and client interaction.

Day-to-day duties:
  • Preparing various estate planning documents including Wills, Power of Attorney, Living wills, Health Care Proxies, and Trust Agreements
  • Assisting with the Probate process as necessary
  • Supporting tax work by maintaining client documents and communicating required information with clients
  • Reviewing attorney calendars and scheduling meetings


Our client is looking for an effective multitasker with strong organizational and time management skills. Must have exceptional customer service skills, the ability to anticipate needs and follow-through, and a professional demeanor.

Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of administrative experience, preferably in the legal field
  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • Trust & Estates experience a plus, but not required
  • Knowledge of legal terminology, forms and documents, practices and procedures
  • Excellent computer skills: Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and accurate typing skills
  • High attention to detail and strong proofreading skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to learn
