A mid-sized Buffalo law firm is hiring a Legal Accounting Assistant to work in their accounting department.
The Legal Accounting Assistant is responsible for setting up all new matters and clients utilizing Firm software.
Essential duties:
Regularly update and maintain databases with new matter information
Verify information for accuracy by cross-checking with source documents and resolving any discrepancies
Perform regular audits and quality checks to ensure compliance with company standards
Collaborate with Legal Assistants to gather required information and streamline information collection processes
Generate reports as needed for management review and operational planning
Enter client write offs in accounting system based on information received from the various online billing platforms
Maintain tracking sheet for client write downs
Work closely with Accounts Receivable to communicate the write downs that must be appealed
Backup for Accounts Receivable and other accounting tasks as directed
Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Certification in data management or administration is a plus
Administrative/accounting support experience preferred
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to multitask and handle multiple client accounts or matters at once
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with accounting software and billing systems
Effective written and verbal communication skills
