Job Description

A well-respected small to mid-sized insurance defense firm in downtown Buffalo is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join its close-knit team. This firm offers a collaborative, laid-back work environment where team members support one another and take pride in delivering high-quality legal work.

This is a great opportunity for a paralegal who enjoys working closely with attorneys in a fully in-office setting and wants to be part of a stable firm with strong employee retention and excellent benefits.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM (30-minute lunch)

Responsibilities
  • Support attorneys in all phases of insurance defense litigation
  • Draft and prepare legal documents including pleadings, discovery, motions, and correspondence
  • Manage case files and maintain litigation calendars and deadlines
  • Assist with discovery, document production, and medical record summaries
  • Coordinate depositions, court filings, and trial preparation
  • E-file documents through NYSCEF & PACER
  • Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel as needed

    Job Requirements

    • 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience (preferred)
    • 1+ years of experience in the insurance defense practice area
    • Strong knowledge of New York litigation procedures and deadlines
    • Experience with NYSCEF & PACER e-filing
    • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
    • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Professional and team-oriented
