A growing law firm with offices in Syracuse, NY seeks an experienced Senior Legal Assistant to provide administrative support to a team of attorneys.
Essential duties:
Drafting, proofing, and editing memos, correspondence, legal documents, and forms
Opening and maintaining client files
Client communication
State and Federal E-filing
Maintaining attorney calendars
Performing billable work as needed
The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who can provide direction to junior level legal assistants and manage deadlines and priorities with ease. Effective communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with attorneys and clients is crucial to succeeding in this role.
Job Requirements
5+ years of legal administrative experience
Litigation or Regulatory experience is required
College degree a plus, but not required
Strong knowledge of legal terminology, forms, documents, and procedures
Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SmartSheets, etc.
Accurate typing skills: 55+ WPM
Notary public license preferred
